"CANAAN : Palestine's antique name, 'Canaan', appeared during the 3rd millenium BC, before the occupation of this region by the Hebrews, around 1 200 BC. Its territory encompassed the lands between Egypt and Mount Lebanon. The inhabitants of Canaan (most of them Semites, who had settled there around 3000 BC), formed several little constituencies, each one of them being ruled by their own king."

In 1948 AD the Jews again conquered the land and formed their own state: the last hurrah of white European colonialism, approved by the UN of the day -- basically the white European nations who won the war, and were still somewhat caught up in the colonial mentality -- deciding it would be okay to take land away from not quite white Palestinian Arabs and give it to white European Jews.

A movement is now afoot to return the region to its roots:
The pledge of the exponents of the Republic of Canaan consists of the creation of a single democratic state on the whole territory of historic Palestine - a democratic state in which all the dwellers would have the same rights and the same duties (whatever their ethnic or religious belongings), a single army, a single police force, a single justice, a single penal code, a single civil code and secular institutions. Only the coming true of this foresight can establish Justice - therefore, Peace - on the soil of Canaan.
